Chelsea last won the Premier League title back in 2017. They finished 6th in the 2023/24 season under Mauricio Pochettino.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirm the club are planning to make further signings in the January transfer window as they look to challenge for the Premier League title again.

The Blues have become one of the most expensive clubs in Europe, spending £219m on new players in the last transfer window and have already invested more than £1bn since 2022. However, Maresca believes the club are not ready to compete with Manchester City and Arsenal, the two teams competing for the title this season.

“I think we have a very good team but Manchester City and Arsenal are still ahead of us without a doubt. Hopefully we can continue to improve and https://ufabet999.app continue to improve. We will gradually get closer to them, but I think at the moment they are ahead of everyone else.”

“As I said, for this reason why one club should have one manager for 9 years, while another has been at the club for 5 years, and the rest of the teams have managers who come and go in a short period of time.”

“Our goal in strengthening the team after the last transfer window closed was to try to find players who really fit the team and can improve the team. That’s the goal for the January transfer window and for next summer, hopefully it will as we have planned,” Maresca said.

Chelsea started the new season with 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss in the first 4 games, earning 7 points.
